We are currently working with an oil and gas company based in downtown Calgary, assisting them in their search for a Human Resources Generalist. This employer offers a hybrid work option - 3 days downtown and 2 days at your home office. As a contributing member of the HR team, the HR Generalist will play an important part in supporting the organization and its employees. The successful individual for this role will collaborate on the development and implementation of HR programs while fostering a positive organizational culture. You will also support recruitment, payroll, compensation, onboarding, documentation and performance management to understand practices that attract, engage, and retain a high-performing workforce.
Other duties included in the HR Generalist position:
Provide direct support and assistance to the Human Resources leader, in all areas of HR functions
Support the recruitment process by preparing job descriptions, advertising roles, scheduling interviews, communicating with applicants and supporting hiring managers in assessing applicants and performing background checks
Research and analysis in different areas involving compensation, such as compensation statistics and market analysis. Conducting position evaluations, job classifications, and assessing the budgetary impact of compensation decisions
Manage and maintain human resource data and records; maintain an electronic filing and retrieval system for past and current records
Assist with employee onboarding, orientation and development cycle
Assist the HR Manager with the Company’s initiatives and special projects
Support and manage HR related IT changes and setup requests
Prepare annual WCB filings
Provide internal customer service and support for all employees of the company
Update, review and maintain policies and procedures on a schedule and as needed basis
The ideal Human Resources professional will possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary certification in human resources, business administration or related field
Five or more years of human resources experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry
Experience with HR systems, Ceridian Dayforce would be an asset
Solid computer skills. Intermediate Excel, Word and Power Point
Superb interpersonal skills and attention to detail
Effective communicator, both written and verbal
Strong problem solving and the ability to adjust to any situation and maintain professionalism
Demonstrate a high level of integrity, confidentiality and discretion at all times
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
