Ideal Background of the Data Engineer Includes:
Technical Skills of the Data Engineer:
5+ years’ experience with ETL tools, especially SQL and SSIS
Work experience with Azure Synapse and/or Databricks
Business analytics focusing on the effective use of data and information to drive positive business actions. This area includes concepts of performance management, definition and delivery of business metrics, data visualization, and deployment and use of technology solutions such as OLAP, dashboards, scorecards and analytic applications
Data analysis concentrating on the understanding of business requirements with respect to data and information
Understanding of data warehousing concepts, architectures, and processes
Oil & Gas experience is an asset
Soft Skills Include:
• Understand how to build and maintain positive client and peer relationships • Keen desire to understand the Business Drivers/Processes behind the data • Self-motivated and self-starter; can prioritize and work effectively with minimal supervision • Establish confidence in your ability to manage tasks, issues, their priorities and interdependencies
