Our energy client has has an exciting opportunity for a Contract Business Analyst – Field Data Capture. Reporting to the Delivery Lead, as an ideal candidate you will have experience with eliciting business requirements, facilitating workshops, developing process descriptions and procedural documentation, building workflows, documenting standards and policies.

The Contract Senior Business Analyst will also utilize standard best practices as required to support the activity execution, and has a key understanding of transition to operations, and development of processes and procedures.
This is expected to be a 6 month contract position based in our downtown Calgary office with possibility of extension.
Lead and participate in process reviews or development and updates to or creation of associated documentation working with stakeholders
Participate in standards and process creation, reviews, updates, development and documentation
Deliver and/or participate in standards, policies or process education and awareness
Successfully engage, drive and facilitate multiple initiatives and deliverables simultaneously
Work independently with users to define concepts or workflows and under direction of project managers
Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language
Collaborate with IT technical project team members including subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs
Be the liaison between the project teams, technology teams and support teams
Manage and execute on required stakeholder and IT client engagement across project deliverables to support project plan and scope outline
Collaborate with project team members to progress the project forward as per project plan and scope outline
Manage and participate in Transition to Operations scope and activities for services and/or products built by the project team
Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: functional requirements (business requirements document), use cases, workflow diagrams, and context diagrams
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business and/or Computer Science
7+ years in Business Analyst role (or similar)
Experience with Oil & Gas Field Data Capture applications – MUST HAVE
Experience with Energy Components and PVR applications
Formal Business Analyst training
Knowledge and experience with business analyst best practices including demonstrated practical experience in applying them
Proven experience with use case and ‘day in the life’ scenario development
Application Implementation experience
Strong analytical and product management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
